High-Five Tennis Tourney a success!

The annual Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table High Five Tennis Tournament took place Monday, April 20 at La Cumbre Country Club and was a resounding success, raising money for the high school athletics programs at Santa Barbara, San Marcos, Dos Pueblos, Bishop Diego, Carpinteria and Laguna Blanca.

Grand Prize winners were the doubles team of Kirsten Kinsella-Tara Sanford and Mark Basham-Greg Tebbe.

Nick Bern of Cate School earned Athlete of the Week honors two years ago after he held the powerhouse Dunn boys soccer team to a season-low one goal. Warren put on a show for his parents who were visiting from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, hurling a six-inning no-hitter for Cate in a 10-0 victory over rival Thacher over Parents Weekend. The right-hander struck out 14 Toads and went 2-for-4 at the plate himself with 2 RBIs.
