Male Athlete of the Week Jesse Gonzalez scored six goals and had two assists over a four-game span as the Santa Barbara High boys soccer team won the Atascadero Cats and Hounds Tournament for the third consecutive year. The team is off to a 5-0 start.
Female Athlete of the Week Jasmine Mata is putting up some big numbers to start off her sophomore season with the Dos Pueblos girls basketball team. She put up 23 points in a win over Santa Ynez before scoring 26, 35 and 10 points as the Chargers went 3-0 and finished third in the Lompoc Tournament.
