Christopher Evans was honored as the Special Olympics Athlete of the Month at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.
Evans has been a part of Special Olympics for 20 years and plays several sports. His favorite is tennis. He recently won a gold medal at a tournament in Santa Maria.
“He’s a very accomplished tennis player,” said his coach, Sue McCue. “He excels as a singles player.”
Evans works at Cost Plus and with the local housing authority.
“Chris has a great sense of humor and is well liked by his coaches and his teammates,” said McCue.
