Mia Able, a 7th grader at Carpinteria Middle School, was honored for her performances at the School Games at La Playa Stadium and the Special Olympics track & field meet in Santa Maria. Mia won several medals competing in the 50- and 100-meter runs, the running long jump and shot put.
