Like the good teacher that she is, Sarah Gerhardt described riding the giant waves at the renown surf break Mavericks in a way everyone could understand. The High Five Golf Tournament raises money to support the athletic programs of six local high schools. The Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table closed out the year with another packed-house affair at Fess Parker’s Doubletree for the 43rd annual Hall of Fame Banquet on Monday night. The inductees as well as Coaches and Athletes of the Year were honored, with highlights including a video acceptance speech from Dodger Stadium by Hall-of-Famer Ryan Spilborghs, who plays for the Colorado Rockies.
