SBCC baseball coach sends out a warning to regional playoff foe

SBCC baseball coach Jeff Walker noted at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon that Cypress College asked about possibly hosting the Southern California Regional playoff series with the Vaqueros despite being the lower seeded team. “Cypress wants nothing to do with our field,” Walker said. “They tried to get the home field even though we’re the higher seed, so that’s a win of us. San Marcos softball looks for strong second half of Channel League play

The San Marcos girls softball team earned an emotional 8-4 win over Dos Pueblos last Tuesday and is a solid 5-1 in Channel League play heading into the second half of league matchups. Other than a 6-0 loss to undefeated Buena, the Royals have run the table in league competition, outscoring their opponents 34-8 over five games. San Marcos boys lacrosse has shot of making playoffs for first time

The San Marcos boys lacrosse team has its sights set on making the playoffs for the first time. The Royals enter the final week of the regular season with a 10-1 record and a No. 18 ranking in the latest L.A./Ventura area poll. Their only loss came in the season opener against Oaks Christian, which is ranked fourth. It’s been a heart-stopping season for the Santa Barbara High boys tennis team. Jaymie Stryker played a key part in San Marcos’ success in water polo

Jaymie Stryker was rehabilitating a surgically repaired shoulder this past girls water polo season, but that wasn’t going to stop her from having a role in San Marcos’ successful season.   UCSB men’s volleyball will pay tribute to retired coach Ken Preston during the Gauchos’ regular-season finale against BYU on Saturday, April 7 at the Thunderdome. The recent warm weather has been welcomed by SBCC baseball coach Jeff Walker.
