Laguna Blanca Scholar Athlete of the Year: Monica Beltran

MONICA BELTRAN, LAGUNA BLANCA SCHOOL Monica Beltran will leave Laguna Blanca to attend Princeton next year, and it’s no surprise that such a prestigious university accepted her. TYNAN DANIELS, DOS PUEBLOS GOLF Daniels led the Chargers to their lowest round of the season on Thursday by turning in an amazing round of 7-under par at Glen Annie. The day's medalist hadn't been under par yet this season but did so easily with a bogey-free round that included seven birdies. Cate School Scholar-Athlete of Month: Nick Bern

NICK BERN, CATE SCHOOL Nick Bern of Cate School earned Athlete of the Week honors two years ago after he held the powerhouse Dunn boys soccer team to a season-low one goal. Soccer coach Dave Mochel called Bern the best high school goalie he's ever seen.
