Jose Castrejon was honored as the Special Olympics Athlete of the Month at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon. Castrejon has competed in Special Olympics for nine years. Elsa Fryer, who captured a silver medal in the tennis singles competition at the Special Olympics Fall Games in Orange County, was named the Special Olympics Athlete of the Month at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon. Kyle Petersilia and Steve Krauskopf were honored Monday as the Special Olympics Athletes of Month for the last two months. Petersilia, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Sunday, has been participating in Special Olympics sports for 15 straight years. He was honored for his play on the softball field.
