The San Marcos boys lacrosse team has its sights set on making the playoffs for the first time. The Royals enter the final week of the regular season with a 10-1 record and a No. 18 ranking in the latest L.A./Ventura area poll. Santa Barbara High’s boys tennis team has a flair for dramatic endings

It’s been a heart-stopping season for the Santa Barbara High boys tennis team. Records are being rewritten early in the track and field season. SBCC coach Scott Fickerson and San Marcos High’s Marilyn Hantgin spoke about record-breaking performances by their athletes at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe. Retired UCSB volleyball coach Ken Preston to become Legend of the Dome

  UCSB men’s volleyball will pay tribute to retired coach Ken Preston during the Gauchos’ regular-season finale against BYU on Saturday, April 7 at the Thunderdome. The recent warm weather has been welcomed by SBCC baseball coach Jeff Walker. "Our team impressed me so much this season," exclaimed San Marcos girls water polo head coach Chuckie Roth on Monday at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Press Luncheon at Harry's Plaza Cafe. Round Table pays tribute to local legend Phil Womble

The Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table held a moment of silence for the legendary Phil Womble at its press luncheon on Monday at Harry’s Plaza Cafe. Womble, whom Round Table president Cara Gamberdella called “a treasured, well-loved board member and community member,” passed away early Monday at the age of 80.
