Holly Ford-Emerson

Holly Ford-Emerson, Hall of Fame Athlete
Let’s see now, Santa Barbara High School honor student. Top-ten in her class. Two times MVP, Basketball scholarship to USC, two-time Channel League MVP, twice CIFSS co-MVP, all-State, and Parade, USA Today, Converse, Adidas and Street and Smith all-American.

Sound like an all-American girl? Read on! What about the scholarship to USC? Dean’s List seven times, Golden Key National Honor Society, Skull and Dagger Honor Society, jess Hill Student Scholar-Athlete Award, Half-Century Club Scholar Athlete, USC’s Outstanding Senior Scholar-Athlete Award and Mark’s Hall Student-Athlete Award.

So what else has she done? Holly started all but one game in her four years on the nationally prominent USC Trojan team; one year finishing as runner-up in the National Championships. She was twice selected to the Pacific-10 all-Academic Teams in 1987 and in 1988. Then she graduated Cum Laude.

Since that highlight of a career, Holly has worked for California Thrift and Loan. She married former SBHS athlete Brad Emerson and they moved to Newbury Park. They have a son, Calvin james, and a daughter, Tessa Grace. Holly lists her present occupation as Mom. As hobbys, she hikes, plays golf, exercises, gardens and reads.

Who can ever forget Holly pumping in 45 points in a local Channel league game, mostly jumpers? All American girl? How about all-American woman? Anyone out there need a role model?

Holly is the younger sister of SBART Hall of Farner, Don Ford. Congratulations to the whole Ford family.
