Jack Bianchi has made a triple impact on local sports and competing athletes. He has made significant contributions of both his time and money to help athletes. In addition, Jack himself is a successful master athlete and finally, there is Jack Bianchi , the inspiration.

Jack and his business, Bianchi Motor Company, serve as sponsors for a large number of running, biking and endurance events on the South Coast. Over the last several years, Jack has quietly but successfully mentored a “Kids Run Free” program. He makes private arrangements with race directors to pay the entry fee of every child or young adult, 17 and under, who wants to compete in a race.

As an athlete, Jack has experienced great success. He became an avid runner in his 40s and began winning age group awards in local , and regional running events, from 5K to marathon distances, then added competitive bike racing . Jack is now training for the Duathlon World Championships to be held in Zurich, Switzerland in late June.

While Jack’s sponsorship and athletic activities are impressive, his role as “Mr. Inspiration” may be his greatest accomplishment. Diagnosed with cancer in 1992, Jack had three tough surgeries, survived the ordeal and decided to try for new levels of success as an athlete.

After his successful battle with cancer, he ran numerous marathons and helped start and organize the Terry Fox Run for The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara. He is personally responsible for raising thousands of dollars for cancer research and continues to serve as the best “poster boy” the Cancer Center could ever have.
