Tyler Dumm, a four-year member of the Carpinteria High School track and field team, served as the team’s co-captain in 2001, his senior year. Participating in shot put and discus for the Warriors, Dumm went on to attend Stanford from 2001 to 2005, participating in wrestling and rock climbing.

He graduated from Stanford in 2005 with a BA in human biology with a concentration in sports physiology and rehabilitation and is currently pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Puget Sound.

Dumm, blind and wearing a prosthetic leg resulting from childhood cancer, is committed to family, human health, physically and intellectually enjoying life and challenging the boundaries of societal expectation. His proudest moment is participating as an Olympic Torchbearer for the 2002 winter Olympic Games Torch Relay.
