DP’s Miles Baldwin scores upset win; Maija Ninness sets San Marcos record

Dos Pueblos tennis player Miles Baldwin and San Marcos record-setting swimmer Maija Ninness were honored as the Athletes of the Week at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe. Ninness beat her own school record in the 100 backstroke and won the event at the Mt. SAC Meet of Champions. She clocked 56.96, breaking the previous mark of 58.39 she set as a freshman in 2015. Jaymie Stryker played a key part in San Marcos’ success in water polo

Jaymie Stryker was rehabilitating a surgically repaired shoulder this past girls water polo season, but that wasn’t going to stop her from having a role in San Marcos’ successful season. Paige Hauschild of the San Marcos swim team and Dos Pueblos volleyball standout Eli Wopat were named the Athletes of the Week at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon. Hauschild set school records in the 50 freestyle (first place in 23.70) and 100 freestyle (second place in 51.00) at the Mt.
