Male Athlete of the Week Shane Rowan of the San Marcos track team is mentored by Royals jumps coach Erica Downing. Downing's dad, Paul Menzel, held the school's triple-jump record for 40 years until his daughter's pupil broke it at last week's Channel League Championships.
